In order to decarbonize the aviation sector by the year 2050, the Airbus Corporation, Rolls-Royce, and EasyJet airline have established a partnership to develop the infrastructure needed for the use of hydrogen fuel in aircraft.
In order to ensure that hydrogen-powered aircraft are completely ready to fly, the legislative framework, infrastructure, safety, and security systems will be prepared as part of the Hydrogen in Aviation (HIA) project, a collaboration between the British parts maker GKN and the Danish energy giant Orsted.
"It would be inexcusable if, when aircraft are ready to fly and capable of being flown, unpreparedness in a number of aspects manifests itself," Johan Lundgren, CEO of British EasyJet said.
According to the HIA statement, the alliance will create a report by the end of 2023 summarizing significant achievements for the initiative to make hydrogen-powered planes a reality.
