According to EC director Ursula von der Leyen, the EC is seeking to secure significant funding for the installation of solar panels in Ukraine that will give electricity to government institutions.
During a news conference in Kiev that was webcast on the EC website during her tour, she stated, "We are trying to make considerable money available for solar panels to be dispersed throughout Ukraine."
The European Commission wants to persuade partners and member states to support the project. According to von der Leyen, "the objective is to provide energy to public facilities in order to maintain a constant supply, for example, for hospitals and schools."
