The foreign ministers from Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the EU have released a united statement asserting that “any negotiations must include Ukraine and Europe.”

“We anticipate talking about the path ahead alongside our American allies.” “Our shared objectives should focus on empowering Ukraine,” stated the announcement on the German Foreign Ministry's website.

“Credible security assurances must be provided to Ukraine.” “A fair and enduring peace in Ukraine is essential for dependable transatlantic security,” the statement noted.

The document was released following the revelation that on February 12, telephone discussions took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. As reported by Bloomberg, officials in Europe were not informed beforehand about the imminent discussion, which members of the previous U.S. administration labeled a “betrayal.” Following his discussion with the Russian president, Mr. Trump declared the "immediate initiation" of negotiations regarding Ukraine.
