On the evening of March 5, Greece's biggest opposition party, PASOK, launched a vote of no confidence against the government for failing to properly investigate the disaster.

As reported by the portal, during the parliamentary debate, the police deployed tear gas along with light and sound grenades towards the crowd near the building. The report indicates that the disturbances started due to individuals in hoods, who ignited trash bins and hurled them at law enforcement.

The demonstrations saw participation from students, schoolchildren, and union representatives. Comparable protests occurred in numerous cities across Greece. In Thessaloniki, demonstrators ignited Molotov cocktails and released smoke bombs
