Harris confirms Walz as U.S. vice presidential nominee

Kamala Harris, the US Vice President and Democratic nominee for president, announced that she has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate. She posted about it on social media X.

Harris pointed out that he has "accomplished much for working families while serving as a governor, coach, teacher, and U.S. military veteran."

Walz described Harris' offer as "the most prestigious honor of my life."

The US media previously reported on the selection of Walz as a candidate. Republican candidate Donald Trump claims that Walz is worse than Harris and could be the worst Vice President in US history. Walz was described as a "dangerous left-wing extremist" by Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.
