"We recognize that we are at a critical, I would say pivotal, phase of these vital negotiations, thus I want to emphasize the positive elements," Mr. Grossi stated to reporters during his journey to Iran, as reported by the Associated Press.

He added that an agreement may be reached, but it is “not guaranteed”.

Previously, the agency's leader stated that Iran is nearing the development of nuclear weapons. He also acknowledged that Iran is “not far” from developing nuclear weapons.

On April 12, the initial discussion between Tehran and Washington about Iran's nuclear program took place in Oman. The second round is set for April 19.
