According to sources, Intel Corp. is in talks with investment banks to explore different strategies to address business challenges, as reported by Bloomberg.

The sources indicated that the company is specifically contemplating a split between its custom chip operations (Intel Foundry, foundry operations) and its chip development business. Intel is also assessing which projects could be eliminated.

Potential moves are anticipated to be introduced at the upcoming board meeting of the company in September.

Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. serve as Intel's consultants.

Sources warned that Intel's discussions with investment banks are in the early stages, so no immediate actions should be anticipated.

Intel is currently facing one of the toughest challenges in its history. Investors were disappointed by the company's second-quarter results and its third-quarter outlook, which were both announced in early August. Intel announced that they will not be paying dividends anymore and will also be making significant cuts to their staff.
