The US, South Korea, and Japan are collaborating to develop a system of early warning and communication that will allow for the interchange of data on the availability of semiconductors and other high-tech components, writes Japanese daily Yomiuri.

A clause on the aim to start the pertinent mechanism in the near future is expected to be added in a joint statement on the outcomes of the impending trilateral talks between Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, US President Joe Biden, and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The two parties will communicate openly and swiftly alert one another to any potential disruptions in the supply of semiconductors, batteries, and other crucial components. The three presidents also plan to agree to step up their cooperation in biotechnology and artificial intelligence-related fields.
