LVMH owner Arnault tops Forbes list of richest people

Bernard Arnault, Head of the LVMH group that controls the brands Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Moet & Chandon, and others, is now at the top of Forbes' annual list of the world’s richest billionaires.

His net worth is pegged at USD 211 billion. He is the only businessman on the list with a capital of more than $200 billion. A year ago, the CEO of LVMH was rated third in terms of wealth, with an estimated net worth of $158 billion.

Elon Musk, who had been leading in 2022, is now in second position. His estimated net worth is $180 billion, a significant decrease from his $219 billion outcome from the previous year. Over the past year, Tesla stock has plummeted by 65%, with the majority of the decline occurring after the tycoon revealed his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter.

Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, comes in third. The US magazine pegged his net worth at $114 billion, up from $171 billion in the previous ranking.
