Lufthansa said in a statement that it "had to cancel practically all flights to and from Frankfurt and Munich for Friday due to the pilots' union strike."
Some flights have already been canceled today. Flights on Eurowings and Eurowings Discover won't be impacted.
"130,000 passengers are anticipated to be impacted. Lufthansa is making every effort to resume flying service as soon as possible due to the forthcoming weekend, the conclusion of holidays in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland, and the upcoming weekend. However, Saturday and Sunday flights may still be canceled or delayed as a result of the strike's effects," the business added.
There will be 800 fewer flights on Friday as a result of the move, which specifically targeted flights by Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo at German airports.
