The McDonald's company is closing its U.S. offices for a full week starting on April 3, writes The Wall Street Journal referring to the management’s letter to employees. The choice is connected to the anticipated employee reductions.

The management advised staff to postpone all supplier meetings and other activities at the McDonald's offices.

The business plans to share "important decisions regarding positions and headcount throughout the organization" during the suspension time.

Management at McDonald's informed staff members in January that "difficult choices" about staffing levels would be made. The number of employees the company intends to let go is unknown. McDonald's employs at least 150,000 people overall, 70% of whom work in the US.

A number of large corporations, including Amazon, Alphabet, Boeing, Microsoft, The Walt Disney Company, Twitter, and Meta, have declared staff reductions earlier.
