The location occupies 52 hectares. 14,250 persons are expected, of which roughly 9,000 are athletes. The community will be staffed by four thousand workers and roughly fifteen thousand additional volunteers.

There are gyms, training facilities, a clinic, and an anti-doping facility inside the village's boundaries.

Bastille Day, July 14, saw the arrival of the Olympic flame in Paris. The torch was carried past the Louvre, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the National Assembly, and the Champs-Elysees.

To ensure the water quality of the Seine was suitable for athletic events, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and French Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra tested the water in July by swimming in it.

The Summer Olympics in Paris will begin on July 26.
