The statement read, "Panasonic Energy (a division of Panasonic) and Mazda will begin consultations to supply Panasonic Energy cylindrical lithium-ion batteries manufactured at plants in Japan and North America for Mazda vehicles and begin installing them on electric vehicles scheduled for production in the second half of the 2020s,"

The Japanese companies will soon begin negotiations to create a medium-term collaboration in this field. It will be decided when potential battery deliveries for electric vehicles might occur, among other.

This would not be the first time Panasonic and Mazda Motor worked together if a deal could be achieved.
