Beijing is also ready to work with Canberra to promote the peaceful and steady growth of Sino-Australian relations," the Chinese government cited Li Keqiang's statement.
Although China and Australia have kept up good relations, the politician claimed that "difficulties have arisen" in their interactions. Li Keqiang further stated that current relations between the nations had been "ambiguous."

Relations between the nations have also been hampered by trade tensions. Australia has demanded a global inquiry into the coronavirus pandemic's root causes.
