"The French trust will receive a 28.4% share in Nissan from the Renault Group. Nissan and Renault Group will maintain a 15 percent cross-shareholding," the statement reads.
It is stated that until the shares are sold, Renault Group will continue to have full economic rights (dividends and sale revenues) over the shares transferred to the trust.
"Nissan wants to become a strategic investor by acquiring up to 15% of Ampere, a Renault Group company that produces electric vehicles and software in Europe. Additionally, Mitsubishi Motors would think about funding Ampere," the release notes.
