Previously, the lawyer for the politician, Seok Dong-hyun, stated that Yoon Suk Yeol will attend questioning by investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO) personally, although he still views the current investigation and efforts to detain him as unlawful.
Around 200 police officers and 40 CIO investigators arrived at the impeached President's home this morning to carry out an arrest warrant, but yet again faced off against his security team.
Prior to this, they navigated three rows of obstacles at the presidential compound, where a lineup of cars and buses was positioned near the head of state's security team. After approximately two and a half hours, using ladders, law enforcement and detectives were able to enter the building.
On December 14, 2024, South Korea's legislature impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol, who imposed martial law in the nation on December 3. The CIO authorized an arrest warrant against him for sedition and power abuse, yet his guards stopped the politician from being apprehended on January 3.
