During a meeting with US dealers, Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota, said that they chose not to continue sponsoring the IOC after Paris due to doubts about their focus on prioritizing people's interests. At that, Toyoda promised to keep providing financial assistance to both Olympic and Paralympic athletes, as well as the Paralympic Games.

Bridgestone, a tire manufacturer, also announced that it would not extend its partnership with the IOC beyond the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The Japanese company stated that the decision was based on an assessment of the company's changing corporate brand strategy and its increased dedication to broader global motorsports platforms.

Panasonic ended its sponsorship of the Olympic Games previously. The company did not provide a reason for ending their collaboration with the IOC, stating that it was because of ongoing changes in their sponsorship approach.

According to Japantoday, the IOC no longer has Japanese sponsors like Toyota, Bridgestone, and Panasonic, so they will now seek sponsorship opportunities in the Middle East and India.
