US, Germany, Spain urge to prevent escalation of Israel-Hezbollah conflict

The escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese movement Hezbollah has sparked concern in the U.S. and several other countries, leading them to urge for tensions to be reduced in the Middle East.

American President Joe Biden stated that he received information regarding "the most recent updates in Israel and Lebanon" and mentioned that the US was taking steps to bring stability to the region.

Bloomberg news agency quoted Biden as saying that they are focusing on de-escalation for people to safely go back home.

Madrid criticized Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon and urged for a reduction in hostilities.

Spain's foreign ministry issued a statement expressing great concern and condemning the Israeli attack on southern and eastern Lebanon.

Annalena Baerbock, the Foreign Minister of Germany, expressed her surprise at the rapid increase in violent incidents and emphasized the importance of establishing measures to restore peace.
