The main reason for the rise in gasoline prices in the U.S. was the ineffective policy of President Joe Biden, rather than the Ukrainian crisis or the actions of oil producers, said the head of the American company Canary Dan Eberhart.
Earlier, a special committee of the House of Representatives accused major oil companies of artificially inflating fuel prices and summoned them to Congress. The latter stated in their defense that they are working to increase production and are not setting any final price of gasoline.
He added that if the government had "serious intentions" to help increase the rate of oil production to combat rising prices, then it would have summoned the heads of the oil companies and had a constructive dialogue with them. In his opinion, what happened in Congress was "a sham trial," where "they pointed fingers and played to the audience".
