The board of directors at a meeting on Sunday discussed fate of Kalanick and his two companions - Emil Michael and Ryan Graves.
Kalanick may be suspended from his duties or transferred to another position.
The board of directors of the company went to such measures because of frequent scandals involving employees of Uber, including Kalanick himself, who in rather rude form argued with a driver about the size of the driver’s commission.
Earlier, more than 20 employees of the company were fired in connection with sexual harassment, in February two former employees of Uber accused their management of sexism and harassment.
Uber Technologies Inc. is an American international company from San Francisco, which created a same-name mobile application for searching, calling and paying for taxis or private drivers.
Uber application helps a customer reserve a car with a driver and tracks its movement to the specified point; the payment is made online or in cash.
In most cases, drivers use their own cars, as well as taxi cars or partners’ vehicles. In most countries, 80% of the payment goes to the driver, 20% are transferred to Uber.
The service’s operation caused conflict situations and protests in a variety of countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain.
In some countries, Uber received fines, others prohibited some or all of its services.
The problem is related to inconsistency of service rules with legislation in a number of European countries (most often absence of relying licenses for the provision of trucking services), as well as with understated tariffs.
