Trump has stated in the past that he would implement tariffs on EU products because he feels that Brussels treats Washington "very poorly."

A representative from the European Commission later said that the EU lacked information on the U.S. introducing extra tariffs on European products, but was prepared to “respond decisively” if such measures were taken.

"Companies operating in the region, investing in it, adding value, and creating jobs should also be considered here, receiving advantages in regards to duties..." "Therefore, we will soon initiate communication with the Trump administration," Blume informed the ZDF television network.
