“In light of the new responsibilities, we are implementing an extensive emergency strategy to safeguard our sales locations, supply chains, retailers, and customers,” the report cites the declaration from a division of the company.

It is observed that the Volkswagen Group of America is implementing immediate actions to secure supplies in the United States while evaluating the required “adjustments” to production and imports.

“The subsidiary stressed that we call on the U.S. government to rethink its choice to implement duties, which are already affecting American jobs, economic development, and families nationwide.”

The firm contends that the new tariffs will lead to a “catastrophic effect on the automotive sector” and will negatively affect both U.S. retailers and their clientele.
