Eurozone GDP up 0.4% in Q3, twice as strong as forecast

The European Union's statistics office reported preliminary data showing a 0.4 per cent growth in Eurozone GDP in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the previous three months.

The eurozone economy saw a growth of 0.9 percent on a yearly basis.

According to Trading Economics, experts had anticipated a 0.2% quarterly and 0.8% annual increase in GDP for July-September.

The economy of the eurozone increased by 0.2 percent in the second quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter and by 0.6 percent on a yearly basis.

The GDP of Germany increased by 0.2% in the third quarter, France's grew by 0.4%, Spain's by 0.8%, and Italy's remained the same.

The economy of the EU expanded by 0.3 percent in the last quarter and by 0.9 percent annually.

This is the initial GDP change estimate among three. The next update is scheduled for 14th November.
