Samsung presents new sports gadgets ahead of Apple

There are just a few weeks until Apple’s autumn presentation, which will feature the long-awaited iPhone 8, smart watches with an LTE-module and other gadgets. And Samsung decided to play with forecasts.

Gear Sport is an updated version of the Gear S3, designed for sports. According to the company, the gadget can be used for swimming, running, cycling, weightlifting and other active sports - the device will figure out what you are doing. The watch is available in two colors - black and blue. Its cost, as well as the start date of sales will be known in the fall.
 
Here are the main characteristics of Gear Sport:
  • Display: 1.2 inches, Super AMOLED, 360x360 pixels;
  • Battery: 300 mAh (with the possibility of wireless charging);
  • Memory: 768 MB operational and 4 GB permanent;
  • Communication: Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS;
  • Sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, heart rate sensor, light sensor;
  • Water resistant: 5ATM.
 
Gear Fit2 Pro

Fitness bracelet Gear Fit2 Pro is yet another novelty, presented by Samsung in Berlin. Unlike Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro looks more like a tracker from Fitbit than Apple Watch. The bracelet received a curved display of rectangular shape. The gadget comes in two colors - red and black. One charge will be enough for four hours - an hour more than Gear Sport.
 
Here are its characteristics:
  • Display: 1.5 inches, Super AMOLED, 216x432 pixels;
  • Battery: 200 mAh; Memory: 768 MB operational and 4 GB permanent;
  • Communication: Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS;
  • Sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, heart rate sensor, light sensor;
  • Water resistant: 5ATM.
The gadget will go on sale on September 15, priced at $ 200 in the US.
 
Gear IconX
 
Finally, Samsung introduced wireless headphones with built-in memory of 4 GB. Gear IconX will be available in gray and pink. The gadget is designed for six hours of work in standalone mode, five - when synchronizing with a smartphone via Bluetooth and four - in call mode.
