The company’s Global Market Forecast 2023 reads that the two most populous nations in the world, China and India, will be the main growth drivers.

The demand for narrow-body aircraft will be 33,510, while the demand for wide-body airliners will be 8,920 thousand, the company believes. It is anticipated that there would be a demand for 2,470 freighter aircraft between 2024 and 2043, of which 940 will be brand-new and the remaining units will be converted passenger aircraft.

Global airlines plan to replace some 18,460 older aircraft (or 45% of all new deliveries) with newer, more energy-efficient aircraft during the course of the next 20 years.

Airbus predicts that the number of aircraft in the world's fleet will reach 48.23 thousand by 2043, double that of 2024.
