Eurozone inflation expected to slow to 2.5% in June

Annualized consumer prices in the Eurozone increased by 2.5% in June, according to a final statistics report from the European Union's statistical office.

The data supported the preliminary estimate and the consensus forecast of analysts surveyed by Trading Economics.

Inflation slowed from May's 2.6 percent.

Food, drink, and tobacco product prices growth decreased to 2.4% in June from 2.6% in May, while energy costs decreased to 0.2% from 0.3%.

Inflation in services stayed at 4.1%.

The CPI Core, which measures costs less food and energy, increased 2.9% annually, same as it did one month ago.

In June, there was a 0.2% monthly increase in consumer prices in the euro area, which was also the case in May.
