The tool allows creating 15-second videos, adjust the speed, add music or borrow an audio track from other videos, and apply various effects. The service was launched on iOS and Android operating systems in 50 countries, including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Australia and Japan.

TikTok may be blocked in the United States by decision of President Donald Trump due to the application's alleged surveillance of American users (TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance). Microsoft is trying to buy a stake in the company, which would stop the block.
