JD Power conducted its study of the quality of vehicles sold in the US on the basis of a survey of 75,000 American buyers of models of the 2018 release after 90 days of operation. The questionnaire consists of 233 questions on eight categories of cars (compact cars, full-size cars, SUVs, pickups, minivans, etc.). The research was conducted from March to May this year.
Genesis (Hyundai luxury division) 2018 models had the least problems. Second comes the Kia brand, and Hyundai is third (34% of the manufacturer are owned by Kia Motors). German automotive industry in the face of Porsche managed to take only the fourth place, the top five closes Ford.
Mazda, Mitsubishi, Cadillac, Infiniti, Hyundai and Lexus have displayed the greatest progress since last year. They got rid of more than ten defects since the last survey.
Of the automakers, the highest ratings in different car categories - five - received various Ford models: Ford Expedition, Ford Mustang, Ford F-Series Super Duty, Lincoln Continental and Lincoln MKC. Hyundai Motors and its divisions Genesis G90, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Rio and Kia Sorento are in second place in terms of the number of first places in different categories (4). BMW models have received three top awards in different segments: the BMW the fourth model, the BMW X1 and the BMW X6, the GM models (Buick Envision, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado HD), and Nissan (Nissan Altima, Nissan Frontier and Nissan Maxima).
Brands as Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo are below the reliability rating are such. Most users complain about operation of their multimedia systems.
