The newspaper's insiders say that Chinese Internet firms and telecom companies have recently been experimenting with Huawei's latest chip, the Ascend 910C. According to the sources, potential customers have been informed by the company that the new chips offer similar performance to Nvidia Corp.'s H100 processors, which were released last year and are not accessible in the PRC.

Sources said that ByteDance, Baidu Inc., and China Mobile are currently negotiating with Huawei for the purchase of the 910C processor. Initial data suggests that orders might surpass 70,000, totaling $2 billion in value.

According to the sources, Huawei is aiming to begin shipping the new chips in October.

The company has been blacklisted by the US since 2019. Being placed on the list has limited its ability to access important materials and equipment needed for chip manufacturing, including facilities in Taiwan that make specialized chips.

Nevertheless, with the help of extensive government funding, Huawei has successfully created substitute products and emerged as a dominant force in sectors like AI, according to the WSJ.
