"United, we could establish local industries throughout the complete value chain of raw materials, from extraction to processing, from launching new research labs to educating local workers," she stated.
Von der Leyen mentioned that European firms are currently participating in the development of a copper deposit in Uzbekistan's Tashkent area, with an investment of €1.6 billion in the venture.
