“Just before Vice President Harris announced her bid for President of the United States on Thursday night, we reached over $500 million,” stated Jen O'Malley Dillon, chairperson of the campaign.
She indicated that the level of donations activity this week was unprecedented. Simultaneously, one-third of this total was attributed to those who sent money for the first time.
It was reported in early August that Harris’ campaign raised $310 million in donations in July, over double the $138.7 million raised by former President Donald Trump during that time.
On Thursday of last week, Harris declared at the Democratic Party convention that she would run as the Democratic candidate for president in the upcoming November election.
