As reported by Kyodo news agency, this represents the largest contract for a Japanese firm, valued at approximately ¥2 trillion ($13.4 billion), not counting discounts.

U.S. Boeing secured an order for 30 aircraft from ANA, while Europe's Airbus received an order for 27, and Embraer got 20, marking the inaugural order from ANA for the Brazilian company. As stated by the Japanese airline, by the conclusion of fiscal year 2031, its fleet will consist of approximately 320 aircraft, with over half being Boeing 787s.

ANA stated that the substantial order is essential “in preparation for anticipated future growth in passenger demand, particularly for domestic flights.” The Boeing aircraft will primarily be utilized for international routes, including destinations in North America and Asia. Several Airbus aircraft will be handed over to Peach, the low-cost airline owned by ANA. Embraer jets designed for up to 100 passengers will operate on domestic routes.
