The new Ikea Preowned platform will undergo testing in Madrid and Oslo before the year ends. The CEO of Ingka, the largest Ikea store operator, Jesper Brodin, made this announcement during an interview with the Financial Times. The company's goal is to introduce the platform worldwide.

"We have been striving to achieve this dream for a while," stated Brodin. - "Now we can bring in even more advanced and exciting developments. We are confident in our progress in the digital realm."

The establishment of the marketplace is a key element in Ikea's significant business overhaul, as reported by the FT. Previously, the company's approach involved establishing big shopping centers outside of cities for customers to visit and collect their purchases, but now it is concentrating on online sales through setting up stores in city centers.

In the past, Ikea provided a service where customers could sell their used furniture back to the store for resale. Nonetheless, the Ikea Preowned platform is a more daring endeavor and enters the company into the P2P sales market.
