Mr. Walz stated that the U.S. aims to connect with as numerous stakeholders in the conflict as it can. “You won't be able to get the parties to engage in negotiations until you initiate a dialogue with them,” he said during an interview with Fox News.

Mr. Walz added that seven American officials engaged in negotiations with the U.S.'s "European partners" to address the Ukrainian conflict at the Munich conference. Additionally, U.S. presidential special envoy Keith Kellogg is engaged in discussions in Kiev. Mr. Walz concluded, “The subsequent step will involve forming technical groups for in-depth discussions.”

Discussions between the delegates of Russia and the United States took place in Riyadh earlier. Michael Waltz referred to the discussions as “the first successful meeting” held between the two nations.
