US President Donald Trump revealed intentions to restart oil and gas extraction in the protected lands of Alaska. He believes that the reserves from these fields can satisfy the needs of the whole Asian market. The president stated that an executive order will soon be issued for the resumption measure.

“I believe I'm going to accomplish it through an executive order ... I believe we will complete it swiftly, but it will be able to serve the entire Asia due to its position. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has the potential to provide for all of Asia,” Mr. Trump stated.

As per the American president's calculations, the field in Alaska is “one of the largest, greater than in Saudi Arabia.” He similarly stressed that the prior US President Joe Biden's administration made a mistake by prohibiting oil and gas drilling in the region.

Donald Trump previously revoked the limitations on oil and gas production set by his predecessor Joe Biden through his executive order. He also revoked the regulation regarding the percentage of electric vehicles and prohibited new leases on the continental shelf with wind farm operators.
