Apple's CEO Tim Cook earned nearly $100 million in fiscal year 2021, according to a company report sent to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
According to the document, Cook's annual salary was $3 million, and he received another $82.3 million in company stock. Cook was also awarded a $12 million bonus for reaching Apple's financial and environmental targets. The head of Apple's total compensation for 2021 was more than $98.7 million.
That's 570% more than in fiscal 2020, when Cook's compensation was only $14.7 million. Cook's earnings were 1,447 times the average Apple employee's salary, which according to the company is $68,254.
The report also reveals that Apple spent more than $712,000 on private air travel for its CEO. Cook stopped flying regular commercial flights as of 2017 for reasons of "efficiency and safety", the document reads.
