After conversations with President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador with U.S. officials, the head of Mexican diplomacy Marcelo Ebrard said that Mexico has been asked to participate in investment initiatives in the manufacture of semiconductors and electric vehicles.
After talks between Blinken and Lopez Obrador, Ebrard said, "The main thing about the economy today is the invitation to Mexico to be part of North America's efforts to produce semiconductors, electric vehicles, and that the President also told about his Sonora Plan for lithium and clean energy."
The secretary reported that the high-level agenda of the discussions included the subjects of the next Washington Security Dialogue in October and the North American Leaders Summit slated for December.
