"Poland raised the issue of Belarus, the need to immediately impose sanctions on Belarus, at today's meeting of the General Affairs Council," he said.
"We informed about the government decisions that were taken yesterday concerning the imposition of sanctions on 365 representatives of the Belarusian regime, Belarusian and Russian firms, as well as the planned June 1 ban on border crossing by Belarusian and Russian trucks," stated Sados.
The EU sanctions against Russia and its citizens, he continued, are meaningless unless Belarus is also subject to economic penalties. Without Belarusian sanctions, the ambassador asserted, "sanctions against Russia make no sense."
