The UN estimates that there are now 8 billion people on the planet; on November 15, the UN forecasted that this milestone will be attained. The "8 Billion Day" is described as "arrived" on the U.N. website.
The UN projection was included in the World Population Prospects 2022, which was issued back in the summer. India will have the world's largest population in 2023, according to the UN. The title is currently China's.
