As per Halliburton's submission to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the incursion by hackers into the firm's computer networks caused disruptions and restricted access to certain operational applications. The amount of data that was accessed is now being evaluated.

The company has reported a financial loss because of the incident and might face additional costs, however, it is unlikely to significantly affect financial or operational performance.

As mentioned before, Halliburton found that some of its systems were accessed by unauthorized third parties on August 21. Some systems were closed by the company for protection and law enforcement was alerted.
